While I am a kitchen designer first, the remodeling part of projects is also an integral part of what I do. In this example of fireplace shelving, I removed old fashioned drywall niches and rebuilt the fireplace area for a new fireplace. The rebuild was quite involved with several demands from the building inspector who had additional requirements for the fireplace remodeling.
The Powder Room tells a story of a client with a specific vision who laid out every 12” square of tile on her garage floor then made cardboard diagrams of each wall indicating where every tile square should be placed. The client and I both were rewarded for our patience with a beautiful end result.
In the kitchen, I added new WoodHarbor cabinets and countertops. The cabinets extend to the ceiling to allow a huge amount of storage. An island was added that has storage access from both sides. There are also extra electrical outlets. Storage cabinets and a small kitchen desk were added to the dining area. A built-in buffet includes a double beverage cooler, glass front cabinets as well as several wide drawers to store large serving platters, linens and other entertainment tools.
The homeowners were in Africa during much of the remodeling. We communicated through texts and pictures. There were numerous changes and additions to the scope of work (such as additional lighting which required more drywall work) but I kept the project on schedule.
